Our present day Halloween, the original holiday was derived from the ancient festival of Samhain in which the Celts in Ireland dressed up in costume and danced around large fires to ward of the ghosts of the dead nearly 2,ooo years ago(1). I am not a historian…I got it from historychannel.com and seems legit) You will hear all sorts of stories regarding where this holiday comes from, what it means to you, what it means to others, what is should mean to you depending on your belief system and what it must mean about your belief system or lack there of. With all that being said and set aside…I take a few things from this Holiday and as a person who has experienced years with and years without Halloween in my life. Years with only All Saints Day and with only Halloween. I have experienced the full spectrum and one thing stayed the same. The magic!
