My girlfriend Jessika invited me to her WAR party and I had to find out what in the world she was even talking about.

What is all the WAR talk?

“WAR, International” is an organization that partners with other individuals and organizations in other countries (and our own here in America) to seek out and help women who are at risk for a variety of different reasons.  These risks include but aren’t limited to exploitation, slavery, abuse, substance abuse, loss, disease, natural disaster and war.  This organization (as do I) believes that these experiences leave women highly vulnerable and defined as “at-risk”.  “However, risk never stands alone; it interacts with every aspect of a woman’s emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. Therefore, our partners do not just address risk issues, but rather seek a holistic approach to meeting each person’s needs. “ (

Now that you know a bit about what WAR stands for, I’d love to show you what it means practically. This organization has really blown me away with all that they do, but specifically through their WAR Chest Boutique.

The proceeds from this party go to funding a girl’s stay at a safe house. Just think about it. A woman. A girl. A child. Safe from the dark and evil throngs of sex trafficking. Able to learn a trade like jewelry making. To have a voice once again or maybe for the first time. To know that someone had a voice for her in purchasing those items others made before her. Someone had faith enough in her, in Jesus, and in good to believe that she was worth more than the world she knew before the safe house she is and will now be in because of this WAR party my friend Jessika hosted.

Proverbs 31: 8-10 says, “ Speak out on behalf of the voiceless, and for the rights of all who are vulnerable. Speak out in order to judge with righteousness and to defend the needy and the poor. “

Speaking out doesn’t always have to be in a grand gesture. You may never have a political platform, a major title or even a job that takes you outside the four walls of your home. But we all have two eyes, two ears, a mouth, a heart and instinct. We have social media at the end of our fingertips. Awareness is everything. If you don’t have a dollar to your name you can still make a difference. Be the eyes as you are at your own children’s baseball games. Sex trafficking is everywhere. In your grocery stores, at your ball fields and in airplanes.  We are the voice for those girls (and boys) who are being abandoned, and often left lifeless. There is always something we can do. The party is over and you can always purchase beautiful items from their boutique online which is awesome news, but most most importantly please pray with me over this organization, over our nation and over the many nations across this vast world. This is something we can all stand together on no matter what gender, color, religion, political stance or otherwise.

Jessika hosted this beautiful party and was able to fund 3 safe houses for 3 girls through the War Chest Boutique! It was an awesome weekend! Make sure to check out the website below for more information where you can get involved in your community or host a party yourself!

It was a beautiful day filled with beautiful food, beautiful friends, jewelry and a whole lot of hope. Thank you for checking it out!
